Acceptable use

What films and library elements may and may not contain.

Draft: not yet reviewed

This is a draft that has not been reviewed by a lawyer. Words in dashed boxes are placeholders the owner sets before launch.

Clipwright exists so creators can make real, original films. These rules apply to every film you make, every element you send to the library and everything you do with the service.

Films

  • No impersonation. Do not pass a film, a channel or a voice off as a real person’s or organisation’s. Never use a voice that imitates a real person.
  • Nothing from other films. Do not use clips, stills, music or narration taken from other people’s films or work. Use only what is yours, what is computed, or what you have the right to use and credit.
  • Credit your data. Say where facts and numbers come from. A film that uses a table of data names its sources.
  • No false promises. Do not show or promise income figures, earnings screenshots or “typical results” for making money from YouTube.
  • Nothing illegal or harmful. No content that is illegal where you live or where you publish it, that sexualises children, that incites violence or hatred, or that harasses a person.

Library components and your own elements

  • Build only what you have the right to use. Do not have your agent copy someone else’s work into an element.
  • Every table of data lists its sources, with the link where one exists.
  • An element’s title, description and tags must say truthfully what it does.
  • An element must not try to read, send or change anything outside the film it draws in. Elements run in isolation and are checked; one that tries to break out is removed and the account that made it may be closed.
  • Do not copy a library component’s code or try to read what the library does not show. Do not fetch the whole library to rebuild it elsewhere.

The service

  • Do not share your account or keys, or use another person’s.
  • Do not get around limits, free-plan caps or the credit rules, or attack or overload the service.
  • Do not use affiliate links to mislead people about what Clipwright is or costs.

What we do about it

We may refuse or retire an element, remove a film’s files, hold an export, or suspend an account that breaks these rules. Where we can, we say why and what to change first. Serious or repeated breaches may end the account.

Reports and takedowns

If you think a film or element uses your work or breaks these rules, write to support@clipwright.studio: placeholder address, set by the owner with the address of the page, what is yours or what rule it breaks, and how to reach you. We will look at it promptly and tell you what we did.
