Terms of service
The agreement for using Clipwright: accounts, plans and credits, your films, and what we may do.
This is a draft that has not been reviewed by a lawyer. Words in dashed boxes are placeholders the owner sets before launch.
These terms are between you and Entity name: placeholder, set by the owner (“Clipwright”, “we”). By making an account or using the service you agree to them. If you use Clipwright for a company, you agree for the company.
The service
Clipwright gives your coding agent tools to make films: a connection it speaks to, a library of components, a command line, a review page where you watch and leave notes, and rendering on our GPUs or yours. Your agent runs on your own AI subscription; we charge for Clipwright, never for the agent’s tokens.
Your account
- You must be old enough to form a contract where you live, and give true details.
- You are responsible for what happens under your account and your API keys. Keep them private and tell us if one leaks.
- One person, one account. A plan covers its owner’s projects and channels.
Plans, credits and payment
Building and previewing are free, with a watermark and a 720p cap. Exporting needs a plan. GPU credits are prepaid top-ups that buy renders on our GPUs and need a plan to buy. Prices are shown on the pricing page before you pay.
Payments are handled by Dodo Payments, our merchant of record. Dodo Payments sells the plan and the credits to you, charges you, collects any tax due and issues your receipts, under its own terms. We do not see your card number. See Refunds for what happens when something goes wrong.
Your films and your content
- You own the films your agent makes for you, and the words, data and files you give it. You may publish them on your own channels.
- You give us the licence we need to run the service on your content: to store it, draw it, render it and show it to you and the people you share it with. It ends when you delete the content, except for copies we must keep to run backups for a short time, and except for the components the next section describes.
- You are responsible for what you publish. Follow the acceptable use rules.
Components built in Clipwright: the library licence
Reusable rendering components generated in your sessions (shaders, procedural geometry, camera paths, sound generators) may be generalised into Clipwright’s shared component library. Your films, premises, scripts, voice, uploads and channel identity stay private to your account.
This is a licence that comes with building in Clipwright, not a submission: there is nothing to send and no approval step. You grant Clipwright a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive, perpetual licence to the rendering code generated in your sessions, to the extent it is a reusable technique of the kinds listed above: to analyse it, generalise it, rewrite it as components of Clipwright’s own, and include those components in the library and in releases for every user, under terms we set. It does not reach the film the technique appeared in, its premise or script, your voice, what you uploaded, or your channel identity; none of these is used in the library.
A library component is Clipwright’s own work. It carries no credit to you, your account or your films, and the library shows no author. You keep whatever rights you have in your own copy and may keep using it in your films.
If you delete your account we delete your films and files. Components already in the library stay, because this licence survives the deletion of your account for them; they identify neither you nor your films.
What you may not do
Do not break the acceptable use rules, try to get around limits, read other people’s code or content, or attack the service. We may refuse, retire or remove content and suspend accounts that do.
Availability and changes
We work to keep Clipwright running but do not promise it will never fail. We may change or end features, and will give notice of changes that matter to you. We may change these terms; the date at the top says when. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept it.
Ending your account
You may stop at any time and ask us to delete your account at support@clipwright.studio: placeholder address, set by the owner. We may suspend or end an account that breaks these terms, with notice where we can give it. Credits left when we end an account for breaking the terms are not refunded.
Liability
The service is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost profits, lost data or indirect loss, and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits what the law does not allow us to limit. Governing law and courts: placeholder, set by the owner.
